Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 April 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the SpecProof web application, API, and MCP server (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
SpecProof provides search and retrieval over publicly available telecommunications and internet standards documents, including 3GPP specifications, IETF RFCs and Internet-Drafts, and Multimedia specifications. Access is available via web client, HTTPS API, and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for AI assistants.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or access controls.
- Scrape, mirror, or redistribute the corpus in bulk.
- Reverse engineer the Service or probe for vulnerabilities without written authorization (responsible disclosure is welcome at security@specproof.ai).
- Resell the Service without a written reseller agreement.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis via Square. Prices, quotas, and features for each tier are published at specproof.ai/billing. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Content and intellectual property
Standards content returned by the Service is the property of the respective standards bodies (3GPP, IETF, ISO/IEC, and others) and is made available under their respective terms. SpecProof retains all rights in the Service itself, including its software, indices, embeddings, and search infrastructure. You retain ownership of the queries you submit.
6. MCP and third-party clients
You may connect approved MCP clients (including Claude) to your SpecProof account via OAuth. You are responsible for the clients you authorize and the actions they take on your behalf.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
8. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SpecProof results are informational and are not a substitute for reading the authoritative normative text published by the relevant standards organization.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPECPROOF'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SPECPROOF IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. SPECPROOF WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
10. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or other users.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SpecProof is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
